Section 6-23-402 - Enrollment numbers and deadline

(a) An open-enrollment public charter school may enroll a number of students not to exceed the number of students specified in its charter.(b)(1) Any student enrolling in an open-enrollment public charter school shall enroll in that school by July 30 for the upcoming school year during which the student will be attending the open-enrollment public charter school.(2) However, if a student enrolled by July 15 should no longer choose to attend the open-enrollment public charter school or if the open-enrollment public charter school has not yet met its enrollment cap, the open-enrollment public charter school may enroll a number of replacement or additional students not to exceed the enrollment cap of the open-enrollment public charter school.(3) An open-enrollment public charter school shall have a policy concerning whether the open-enrollment public charter school will enroll students after July 30.(c) Open-enrollment public charter schools shall keep records of attendance in accordance with the law and submit quarterly attendance reports to the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.Amended by Act 2021, No. 774,§ 11, eff. 7/28/2021.Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 1743, eff.
