(a) The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is authorized to establish annual summer residential and day programs to provide enriched educational offerings for junior high and high school students who have demonstrated exceptional abilities in a specific subject area.(b) Each program shall offer instruction in subject areas to be designated annually by the division from the subject areas of science, mathematics, computer science, social studies, arts and music, literature and communication, and foreign languages.(c) The summer educational programs established pursuant to the authority of this section shall be operated by the division directly or by contract with other public or private agencies and shall be funded from the appropriation to the division for the operation of programs for the education of gifted and talented students.Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 1802, eff. 7/1/2019.Acts 1983 (Ex.
