530. (a) No notary public shall issue a confidential marriage license pursuant to this part unless the notary public is approved by the county clerk to issue confidential marriage licenses pursuant to this chapter.(b) A violation of subdivision (a) is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or six months in jail.(Amended by Stats. 2006, Ch. 816, Sec. 32. Effective January 1, 2007. Operative January 1, 2008, by Sec. 56 of Ch. 816.)
