Nothing in this division shall be construed to deprive a claimant of the right to resort to writ of mandate or other proceeding against the public entity or the board or any employee of the public entity to compel payment of a claim when and to the extent that it has been allowed and is required by this division to be paid.(Amended by Stats. 1980, Ch. 215.)
