The Superintendent of Public Instruction shall ensure that local education agencies provide special education and those related services and designated instruction and services contained in a child’s individualized education program that are necessary for the child to benefit educationally from his or her instructional program. Local education agencies shall be responsible only for the provision of those services which are provided by qualified personnel whose employment standards are covered by the Education Code and implementing regulations.(Added by Stats. 1984, Ch. 1747, Sec. 2. Section operative July 1, 1986, pursuant to Section 7588 (later repealed).)
