§ 7599.111

For purposes of this chapter, the following shall apply:(a) 'Online marketplace' means any electronically based or accessed platform that may be accessed on an internet website or through an application, and that does both of the following:(1) Includes features that allow for, facilitate, or enable third-party sellers to engage in the sale, purchase, payment, storage, shipping, or delivery of a consumer product in the state.(2) Hosts one or more third-party sellers.(b) 'Regional property crimes task force' means a task force convened pursuant to Chapter 13 (commencing with Section 13899) of Title 6 of Part 4 of the Penal Code.(c) 'Third-party seller' means any individual or business entity, independent of an operator, facilitator, or owner of an online marketplace, who sells, offers to sell, or contracts to sell a product in the state through an online marketplace.(Added by Stats. 2022, Ch. 855, Sec. 1.
