6547.9. The Treasurer is designated as an elected representative for federal tax purposes of a joint powers agency created pursuant to this chapter. In the discretion of the joint powers agency, the Treasurer is authorized to approve or certify the issuance of bonds, notes, or other evidence of indebtedness, issued by or on behalf of that joint powers agency, to the extent this approval is required by federal tax law.(Added by Stats. 2001, Ch. 186, Sec. 1.
