8879.1. (a) The Legislature finds and declares that the completion of seismic safety retrofit work is essential to the welfare and economy of the state.(b) It is the intent of the Legislature to ensure that the work be completed as quickly as possible.(c) In order to avoid delays in the completion of the work, it is necessary that certain statutes that would otherwise be applicable be temporarily suspended.(Amended by Stats. 2003, Ch. 525, Sec. 1.
