A subpoena requiring the attendance of any witness before the Senate, Assembly, or a committee may be issued by the President of the Senate, Speaker of the Assembly, or the chairman of any committee before whom the attendance of the witness is desired if permission has been secured from the Rules Committee of the respective house.(Amended by Stats. 1984, Ch. 1672, Sec. 1.)
