9937. Independent audit of contingent fundsThe Joint Rules Committee shall annually contract for an independent audit of the revenues and expenditures, for each fiscal year, from the Assembly Contingent Fund, Senate Contingent Fund, and the Contingent Funds of the Assembly and Senate. The organization performing the audit shall be subject to approval by the Fair Political Practices Commission. The audit shall include, but need not be limited to, an evaluation of the accuracy of the expenditures described in Section 9936 and an evaluation of the effectiveness of the internal auditing procedures of the individual rules committees.The audit shall be completed and made available to the public within 180 calendar days following the completion of the fiscal year for which the audit is performed.(Added June 5, 1984, by initiative Proposition 24.)
