Each state agency and department shall, in the maintenance of statistical tabulation of minority groups, commence the categorization of Pacific Islanders as Pacific Islanders not later than March 1, 1985. As used in this section, 'Pacific Islander' means a person who is defined as such by the 1980 federal census. Nothing in this section shall require a state agency or department to collect data for any study that was completed prior to January 1, 1985.(Added by Stats. 1984, Ch. 405, Sec. 1.)
