With the consent of the Legislature, the director may make application for and accept loans of funds made available by the federal government or a federal department or agency to aid in financing the costs of engineering and architectural surveys, designs, plans, working drawings, specifications, or other action preliminary to and in preparation for the construction of public works authorized by the Legislature. Repayment of such loans shall be pursuant to appropriation by the Legislature.(Added by Stats. 1963, Ch. 1862.)
