The department may assist regional transportation planning agencies with the preparation of regional transportation plans and improvement programs by providing technical services and other assistance as determined by the director and the transportation planning agency as necessary for the timely and comprehensive discharge of the responsibilities of the transportation planning agency.(Added by Stats. 1977, Ch. 1106.)
