19822.6. There is hereby established a Child Care Fund to which funds shall be allocated from the amount appropriated in the annual Budget Act for employee compensation. The Child Care Fund shall be used to encourage development of child care programs for dependent children of state employees. These programs may include financial assistance to aid in the development of child care centers administered by either nonprofit corporations formed by state employees or other child care providers.The Child Care Fund shall be administered by the Department of Human Resources.Upon the determination of the department, the funding shall include, but not be limited to, cash grants.The amount to be allocated and expended annually, from the funds available for compensation increases, shall be determined by the department. Notwithstanding Section 13340, the Child Care Fund shall be available for expenditure without regard to fiscal years through June 30, 1991, unless otherwise extended by statute enacted prior to that date.(Amended by Stats. 2012, Ch. 665, Sec. 94.
