The board, its executive officer, or any appointing power shall not adopt any rule, either written or unwritten, prohibiting the employment of any person in any state position who is otherwise qualified therefor, solely because of his or her age, except as provided in Section 18932.(Amended by Stats. 1990, Ch. 478, Sec. 18.)
