20995. Any person in the employ of the state who was or is absent on military service on the date when he or she otherwise would have become or would become a member, became or becomes a member on that date, with the same status and rights of membership as if he or she had not been or were not absent.(Added by Stats. 1995, Ch. 379, Sec. 2.
