20399. 'State safety member,' includes persons employed in the Department of Fish and Game in connection with its warden service, whose principal duties consist of active law enforcement service, including immediate supervision by persons employed to perform the duties performed under the titles of Chief and Assistant Chief of Warden Service, and Captain of Patrol Boats, except those whose principal duties are those of a telephone operator, clerk, stenographer, machinist, mechanic, assistant fish and game warden, or otherwise clearly do not fall within the scope of active law enforcement service, even though the person is subject to occasional call, or is occasionally called upon, to perform duties within the scope of active law enforcement.(Added by Stats. 1995, Ch. 379, Sec. 2.
