20693. (a) Except as provided in subdivision (b), notwithstanding any other law, the state or the Regents of the University of California may pay all or a portion of the normal contributions required to be paid by a state member. The payments shall be reported as employer-paid normal contributions and shall be credited to member accounts. Nothing in this subdivision shall be construed to limit the authority of the state to periodically increase, reduce, or eliminate the payment by the state of all or a portion of the normal contributions required to be paid by a state member, as authorized by this section.This section shall be subject to any applicable collective-bargaining laws.(b) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), employers shall not pay a portion of the normal contributions for members who are subject to subdivision (c) of Section 7522.30, except where authorized pursuant to subdivision (f) of Section 7522.30.(Amended by Stats. 2013, Ch. 526, Sec. 9.
