If the proposed territory to be transferred is inhabited and the boards of both affected counties have approved the boundary change, the board of the transferring county shall, not later than 30 days after receiving the commission’s determinations, order and give proclamation and notice of an election to be held in the territory proposed to be transferred, on the next established election date in the transferring county not less than 74 days after receipt of the commission’s determinations, for the purpose of determining whether the county boundary shall be changed.(Added by Stats. 1974, Ch. 1393.)
