Every special election held under the provisions of this chapter, for the election of a charter commission or for the submission of a proposed or revised charter, or any amendment or amendments thereto, or repeal thereof, shall be called by the governing body, by ordinance, which shall specify the purpose and time of such election and shall establish the election precincts and designate the polling places therein, and the names of the election officers for each such precinct.(Added by Stats. 1969, Ch. 1264.)
