26231. (a) For purposes of this section, 'broadband internet access service' has the same meaning as defined in Section 53167. (b) The board of supervisors of a county may acquire, construct, improve, and maintain broadband infrastructure and operate broadband internet access service and any telecommunications services necessary to obtain federal or state support for the acquisition, construction, improvement, or maintenance of broadband infrastructure or operation of broadband internet access service.(c) A county that acquires, constructs, improves, or maintains broadband infrastructure or operates broadband internet access service shall comply with the requirements of Article 12 (commencing with Section 53167) of Chapter 1 of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5.
