If the population of any existing county is reduced, by reason of the creation of any new county from its territory, below the class and rank first assumed pursuant to this chapter, the board of supervisors shall designate by order the class to which the county is reduced, and the county is a county of that class.(Added by Stats. 1947, Ch. 424.)
