'Compensation earnable' by a public administrator, coroner or coroner-public administrator member compensated by means of fees means the average compensation as determined by the board, for the period under consideration, upon the basis of the average amount of fees received each month by such member.(Added by Stats. 1961, Ch. 2095.)
