The normal rates of contribution of members shall be based on age at the nearest birthday at the time of entrance into the retirement system.Nothwithstanding any provisions of this chapter to the contrary, separate rates of contribution, allowances, or benefits for male and female members shall not be maintained or established.(Amended by Stats. 1976, Ch. 1436.)
