Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in any county having a population in excess of 199,000 but less than 200,000 as determined by Section 28020 as amended in 1961, an undersheriff upon attaining the age of 70 shall thereafter be employed from year to year at the discretion of the county.(Added by Stats. 1971, Ch. 437.)
