31982. Any county peace officer may elect to be excluded from this chapter at any time within 30 days after it becomes operative in any county as to his position, or within 30 days after his entrance into the service, upon his written election to be so excluded. Any employee who elects to be excluded shall not thereafter be included in or participate in this system.(Added by Stats. 1947, Ch. 424.)
