50271. (a) When the mayor is unable to attend a meeting of a city selection committee, the mayor shall designate another member of the city’s legislative body to attend and vote at the meeting as the mayor’s representative.(b) For the city selection committee in the County of Los Angeles, the following shall apply when the mayor or the mayor’s designated member is unable to attend a meeting of the city selection committee:(1) The vice mayor or mayor pro tempore shall serve as the voting member and shall be entitled to one vote.(2) (A) In the absence of the mayor and the vice mayor or mayor pro tempore, the next ranking council member shall serve as the voting member and shall be entitled to one vote.(B) The ranking council member shall be determined by seniority of service on the council.(Amended by Stats. 2015, Ch. 361, Sec. 1.
