50081.2. The legislative body of a local agency may furnish police officers and deputy sheriffs assigned to helicopter duty with the following safety equipment:(a) Fireproof coveralls or other suitable fireproof uniforms, fireproof underwear, and fireproof stockings.(b) Flight boots.(c) Suitable plastic aviation-type safety helmet.Such equipment shall remain the property of the local agency and shall be returned upon request of the local agency.(Added by Stats. 1978, Ch. 939.)
