50333. Whether governed under general laws or charter, a local agency may donate and grant to the State real property which it owns within its boundaries as a site for public buildings and grounds. A local agency may acquire such real property by purchase or eminent domain proceedings in the name of the local agency. The title to such property may be taken in the name of the State or of the local agency and thereafter conveyed to the State. A local agency may expend its funds, incur indebtedness, and issue bonds for the acquisition of such sites.(Added by Stats. 1949, Ch. 81.)
