By a four-fifths vote, the legislative body of a local agency may convey land which it owns within the state to the United States for use by the Defense Department or as customs and immigration offices and may expend money from the general fund to acquire such land or to improve the land it owns or has acquired and desires to convey to the United States.(Amended by Stats. 1969, Ch. 122.)
