California Legal Code
50556. At the time for hearing protests, the legislative body shall hear and pass upon all protests and objections to the proposed sale. If 10 percent of the owners of property assessed or being assessed to purchase the property proposed to be sold, protest such sale in writing, the proceedings shall terminate and no proceedings for a similar purpose shall be instituted for a period of six months. If less than 10 percent of the owners of such property object to the proposed sale and if, in the opinion of the legislative body, the sale of such improvements will be for the best interests of the local agency, the legislative body may overrule all protests and proceed with the sale of such improvement. The decision of the legislative body shall be final.(Added by Stats. 1957, Ch. 1923.)
