Should any provision or clause of this chapter or application thereof to any person or circumstance be held invalid or unconstitutional, that invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect other provisions or applications thereof which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application and, to this end, the provisions of this chapter are declared severable. By adopting this chapter, the Legislature hereby declares that it would have adopted this chapter without that provision or provisions.(Added by Stats. 1988, Ch. 53, Sec. 1. Effective March 24, 1988.)
