The legislative body of a county, city, municipal corporation, political subdivision, public district, or other public agency of the State may provide for the purchase of United States savings bonds or similar United States obligations by salary or wage deductions for officers and employees making written requests for the deductions and purchases.(Added by Stats. 1949, Ch. 81.)
