California Legal Code
53823. In addition, a school district, county board of education, or community college district may borrow money at any time between July 15th and August 30th of any fiscal year in an amount not to exceed 25 percent of the estimated income and revenue to be received during the current fiscal year by the district or county office of education from apportionments of the state, high school, or community college fund and of the State General Fund, based on the average daily attendance of pupils in the schools or colleges of the district or in schools operated by the county board of education for the preceding school year. The notes shall be repaid not later than December 31st in the fiscal year exclusively from the state apportionments.(Amended by Stats. 1980, Ch. 447.)
