Each member of the board shall receive the actual and necessary expenses incurred by him in the performance of his duties, plus a compensation of twenty dollars ($20) for each day attending the meetings of the board, but such compensation shall not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) in any one year.(Added by Stats. 1963, Ch. 1811.)
