65597. Not later than January 31, 2010, each local agency shall notify the department as to whether the local agency is subject to the department’s updated model ordinance adopted pursuant to Section 65595, and if not, shall submit to the department a copy of the water efficient landscape ordinance adopted by the local agency, and a copy of the local agency’s findings and evidence in the record that its water efficient landscape ordinance is at least as effective in conserving water as the department’s updated model ordinance. Not later than January 31, 2011, the department shall, to the extent funds are appropriated, prepare and submit a report to the Legislature summarizing the status of water efficient landscape ordinances adopted by local agencies.(Repealed and added by Stats. 2006, Ch. 559, Sec. 3.
