To assist Orange County in the operation of the county jail, the board of supervisors may establish by resolution a County Jail Fund to be funded with a transfer of any funds remaining in the Orange County Transition Planning Fund collected prior to July 1, 1990. The fund moneys, together with any interest earned thereon, shall be held by the county treasurer, separate from any other funds and shall be expended through any public agency funding mechanism which reduces an obligation incurred in the operation of the county jail, including, but not limited to, retirement of bonded indebtedness, loan repayments, and monthly payments involving lease-purchase programs.(Amended by Stats. 1992, Ch. 55, Sec. 1.
