In the absence of a statute or rule authorizing or prohibiting a fee by the superior court for a particular service or product, the court may charge a reasonable fee not to exceed the costs of providing the service or product, if the Judicial Council approves the fee. The fee shall be distributed to the court in which it was collected.(Added by Stats. 2005, Ch. 75, Sec. 121. Effective July 19, 2005. Operative January 1, 2006, by Sec. 156 of Ch. 75.)
