If a majority of the judges of the superior court of any county with a population of 700,000 and under 750,000 concur in an order that appointments may be made pursuant to this article, they may each appoint a competent phonographic reporter, specifying that the appointment is pursuant to Article 12, Chapter 5, Title 8, of this code.(Amended by Stats. 1953, Ch. 1064.)
