6840. The board shall select one of its members as chairperson and select one of its members as vice chairperson, who shall preside in the absence of the chairperson, and it may provide for and select the officers it deems necessary to conduct the affairs of the district.(Amended by Stats. 1998, Ch. 876, Sec. 11.4.
