This chapter shall be enforced directly by the department for all public water systems, including state small water systems, in any county that does not have a local health officer, or contracts with the department for environmental health services pursuant to Section 1157 and elects not to enforce this chapter.(Added by Stats. 1995, Ch. 415, Sec. 6.
