As used in this part 3, unless the context otherwise requires:(1) 'Petitioner' means a person who seeks enforcement of an order for the return of a child under the 'Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction' or enforcement of a child-custody determination.(2) 'Respondent' means a person against whom a proceeding has been commenced for enforcement of an order for the return of a child under the 'Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction' or enforcement of a child-custody determination.L. 2000: Entire article R&RE, p. 1530, § 1, effective July 1.OFFICIAL COMMENTFor purposes of this part, 'petitioner' and 'respondent' are defined.
