(1) The general assembly hereby finds and declares that: (a) The collection and use of DNA by law enforcement agencies is a valuable tool in preventing crime;(b) The analysis of DNA has been used numerous times in the exoneration of innocent individuals charged with or convicted of crimes; and(c) The implementation of this article will result in preventing a significant number of violent crimes in Colorado and in solving a number of unsolved crimes in Colorado.L. 2009: Entire article added, (SB 09 -241), ch. 295, p. 1573, § 1, effective 9/30/2010.
