As used in this part 3, unless the context otherwise requires:(1) 'Board of cooperative services' or 'BOCES' means a board of cooperative services created pursuant to article 5 of this title 22.(2) 'Charter school' means a district charter school authorized pursuant to part 1 of article 30.5 of this title 22 or an institute charter school authorized pursuant to part 5 of article 30.5 of this title 22.(3) 'Department' means the department of education created and operating pursuant to section 24-1-115.(4) 'Institute' means the state charter school institute established pursuant to section 22-30.5-503.(5) 'School district' means a school district, other than a local college district, organized and existing as provided by law.Amended by 2017 Ch. 287, § 3, eff. 6/2/2017.L. 2010: Entire part added, (HB 10 - 10 36), ch. 79, p. 268, § 1, effective April 12.
