Section 22-1-110 - Effect of use of alcohol and controlled substances to be taught

The nature of alcoholic drinks and controlled substances, as defined in section 18-18-102(5), C.R.S., and special instruction as to their effects upon the human system in connection with the several divisions of the subject of physiology and hygiene, as to the physical, emotional, psychological, and social dangers of their use with an emphasis upon the nonuse of such substances by school-age children, and as to the illegal aspects of their use shall be included in the branches of study taught to school-age children during grades kindergarten through twelve in the public schools of the state. They shall be studied and taught, as thoroughly and in the same manner as other like required branches are taught in said schools, by the use of instructional materials and strategies designated by the board of directors of the respective school districts.L. 1887: p. 378, § 1.
