(1) The department of education shall have the following duties regarding the second chance program:(a) To notify all school districts of the procedures to be followed in processing applications from eligible students;(b) To gather information on participating schools and advertise the program to potentially eligible students and their parents;(c) To receive enrollment information and audit the students and schools participating in the program;(d) To provide assistance as requested to participating school districts, schools, students, and parents;(e) To hear appeals of disputes arising between participating school districts, schools, students, and parents.(f) Repealed.L. 85: Entire article added, p. 723, § 3, effective July 1.
