Section 24-18-206 - Penalty

A person who knowingly commits an act proscribed in this part 2 commits a class 2 misdemeanor and shall be punished as provided in section 18-1.3-501. In addition to the penalties provided in section 18-1.3-501, the court may impose a fine of no more than twice the amount of the benefit the person obtained or was attempting to obtain in violating a provision of this part 2.Amended by 2021 Ch. 462,§405, eff. 3/1/2022.L. 2009: Entire section added, (SB 09-035), ch. 455, p. 455, §1, effective August 5. .Section 803(2) of chapter 462 (SB 21-271), Session Laws of Colorado 2021, provides that the act changing this section applies to offenses committed on or after March 1, 2022. 2021 Ch. 462, was passed without a safety clause.
