(1) For purposes of this section, 'consumer reporting agency' means any person which, for monetary fees, dues, or on a cooperative nonprofit basis, regularly engages in whole or in part in the practice of assembling or evaluating consumer credit information or other information on consumers for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports to third parties.(2) (Deleted by amendment, L. 97, p. 1295, § 38, effective July 1, 1997.)(2.5)(a) The child support enforcement agency may provide information to consumer reporting agencies regarding child support obligations pursuant to federal law.(b) (Deleted by amendment, L. 97, p. 1295, § 38, effective July 1, 1997.)(3) Prior to furnishing any information pursuant to subsection (2.5) of this section, the child support enforcement agency shall provide advance notice to the obligor parent regarding the proposed release of the information to the consumer reporting agency.
