Any person subject to this code who, with intent to defraud, falsely makes or alters any signature to any writing or any part thereof which would, if genuine, apparently impose a legal liability on another or change his or her legal right or liability to his or her prejudice or utters, offers, issues, or transfers such a writing, known to him or her to be so made or altered, is guilty of forgery and shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.L. 83: Entire article added, p. 1191, § 1, effective June 10.
