Wherever the boundary lines of any county are so indefinite as to make it impossible to determine where such lines are, and when a portion of territory by reason of such indefinite description is claimed by two counties, the board of county commissioners of each county so claiming said territory is authorized to have a survey made to define the boundaries. If it occurs that either county is dissatisfied with the boundary line as thus determined, it may be entitled to require of the other an arbitration for the settlement of the matter, from which arbitration there shall be no appeal, and the decision shall be final.G.L. § 420.
